SPACE GITS alpha update & miniatures

SPACE GITS is my new miniatures skirmish game about drunk-ass space orcs looting, shooting and scooting, recently released in early access. You can download it from Itch right now.

The game is free to Patreon supporters (bronze and above) and $5 to everyone else. Click here for the free Patreon access.

I have just released an update to the SPACE GITS rulebook. Update 0.7 features some tweaks to the core rules, after a bunch of great feedback from you lot, and some playtesting of my own. If you get a chance to play the game, I’d love to hear from you: what doesn’t work for you, or what suggestions or ideas do you have to improve the game? Changes in 0.7

  • Tilt Alarm! I changed the rules for knocking over other players towers: you get fined now. The intent is to make it less attractive to just use your movement dice to sniper other people’s dice towers (although you can still do it, just at a cost).
  • Boom! Improved the rules for explosions, and emphasised the use of exploding barrels as they are totally rad and add a really fun element to the game.
  • Last Orders, Gentlemen: Introduced a 30min timer, after which gits stay down. I’d really like some feedback on this. The intent is to provide a simple method to ensure the game doesn’t just loop round and ‘reset’, but has a conclusion. It might not be the right solution, but it has simplicity and a mild sense of panic in its favour!
  • One for his nob: Added a tie-breaker cap in the middle of the table, as the number needs to be odd.
  • Sticky fingers: When it’s not your turn to activate something: you now have to keep your hands out of the play area.
  • Shooting now ignores dice, so you can roll your bullet dice as close or far away as you like.
  • Fighting ends the current activation.
  • Vending machines just need a kicking to produce items.

Stay tuned for some new faction rules, coming along as soon as I get some of my new orcs stuck together…

The wonderful folks at Kromlech have sent me a lucky dip of orc miniatures to use in the final SPACE GITS rulebook. Check out Kromlech’s ork range here: https://bitsofwar.com/10-orcs-goblins?afi=KROM52772
